Nest Fan Scheduler

A personal tool for timed circulation

Choose when your Nest thermostat requests the fan. This local command-line tool adds a configurable circulation schedule using Google’s Smart Device Management API.

5 minutes, every 15 minutes.

The default sends a five-minute fan timer at each quarter-hour. You can change the timer duration and interval.

How it works

  1. Authorize access through Google and choose the thermostat to control.
  2. Preview your timing, check the device, and start the local scheduler.
  3. The computer sends timed fan requests directly to Google. Nest expires each accepted timer.

The app issues fan timer commands. It does not change temperature setpoints, heating or cooling modes, or the thermostat’s built-in schedules. Heating, cooling, and other thermostat settings may also run the fan.

Runs on your computer

You need a compatible Nest thermostat with independent fan control, Google Device Access and OAuth setup, and a computer that stays awake and connected to the internet while scheduling. Missed intervals are skipped. Closing the scheduler stops future requests.

This page provides information about the app. Authorization and scheduling happen in the local tool.

Your connection, under your control

You sign in with Google; the app does not ask for your Google password. Credentials and schedule settings are stored in the project’s private local folder. The app has no developer-operated backend.

Read the app privacy notice for the data accessed, local storage details, and how to revoke access or delete your local files.
